Term 4 Week 6 Newsletter

Principal’s Message….

Kia ora families, we are in for a big finish with our classroom Big Day Outs, the official pool opening and end-of-year prizegiving, term 4 goes by so quickly! We are also doing plenty of testing to get our data in for reports which will go home on the last day of school which is the 15th at 12.30. Buses will be running at this time.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank you all for your amazing support throughout the year, on Tuesday the 14th we would love to invite those who have assisted with coaching, supervising groups, attending class trips or transport to a morning tea as a way of saying thank you, this is also our Book Character dress-up day. Covid restrictions will mean masks do have to be worn and we will need to social distance but we will be able to work with this I’m sure. Please RSVP to the office if you are intending on coming so we know for catering purposes by Friday next week (the 3rd of December).
Good luck for the ‘Silly Season’ and I look forward to seeing you at the pool opening on Wednesday next week!

Room 1 News

Room 1 had a great visit from Richard and Grant, firefighters from Masterton who talked to us about being firewise. We learned about how to escape safely and what to do in the event of a fire. We know smoke is really dangerous and that it’s not like the movies where you can see everything. We also know to discuss at home where a safe meeting place is, ask us where this is!

Room 2 News

This week for our structures inquiry we’re designing our dream houses. Jackson’s tree house design is inspired by his uncle Taylor’s Tiny Homes.

Room 3 News

Room 3’s Year 6 students enjoyed their last Technology day at school by making pizza. First, we made the dough in a breadmaker then we left it to rise and popped out for some water testing on Palliser Ridge. When we returned, we made our pizza base, put some toppings on it and had it for lunch. Delicious!
